Software Development Manager – Digital Marketing

Adobe is looking for an Engineering Manager that will be leading a team of managers, developers and quality engineers within the Digital Marketing team. You will be responsible for taking specific product features through entire life cycle, from requirement analysis to delivery, meeting the reliability, performance and quality targets required in our company.

Together with your team, you will contribute to a portfolio of projects: developing the next version of Adobe TagManager, integrating the Digital Marketing Suite products (Site Catalyst, Test & Target, Scene7) into the Day CMS and supporting measurement across various products in Media Solutions (video, advertising and digital magazines).

As a people manager, you will have to recruit and mentor people to make them part of your team, keeping your direct reports motivated, reviewing performance of the team members and participating in management related activities in Adobe Romania.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a new Digital Marketing direction within Adobe Romania that consists of a portfolio of projects
  • Lead an agile, highly collaborative and passionate team working on new product development and solutions integrations
  • Work closely with US and Romanian team members (Quality Engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, etc.) to define features and priorities, create and maintain project plans and schedules
  • Be responsible for both development and quality assurance of his team’s work
  • Inspect team progress and provide regular feedback, anticipating and overcoming potential conflicts and roadblocks
  • Make decisions that impact the schedule or scope of a project by understanding the trade-offs between schedules and quality
  • Review and contribute to architectural decisions and feature specifications
  • Grow team members: mentor by providing knowledge and expertise, set goals and review their performance
  • Inspire team members, ensuring that team dynamics continues to be healthy and that team cohesion is high
  • Develop and improve the development process to optimize team’s efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay in touch with the latest technologies and trends, especially in the digital marketing industry

Skills

Must have

  • B.S or M.S. degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Proven people management skills in leading teams of 10 or more people, including managers
  • Strong foundation in development and quality assurance process, best practices and design patterns.
  • Strong web development know-how. Experience with managing hosted services, including operations are a plus
  • Strong technical background with web-related technologies (HTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS)
  • Ability to understand business context and requirements, strong customer focus
  • Able to work independently to identify issues, define architecture, develop & track schedule, assign & track tasks
  • Able to motivate, inspire and grow team members
  • Top notch communication skills, able to be credible and convincing in a simple phone conversation in English, able to deliver short but high-impact presentations and pitches
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Nice to have

  • Experience with new product development
  • Experience managing cross functional teams (developers and quality engineers) is a big plus
  • Knowledge in agile development practices (ex: SCRUM)
  • Experience with online marketing
  • Background with Java technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, Spring MVC, JSP, Jackrabbit) is a plus
