Our Digital Publishing Solution includes authoring tools running as desktop software, hosted services to produce and deliver content and content viewers running on tablet devices. In this role, you will be responsible for intake of customer requests, isolation of problems, development and deployment of solutions within hosted services, tablet software and desktop components. You must have proven success in rapidly learning complex code bases and developing solutions within them. Solving problems for customers may involve operational procedures, bug fixing and development of new or substantially changed features. You will learn from and consult with engineers on multiple development teams to implement new or significantly changed features within our products. Your excellent written and verbal communications skills will enable you to be an engineering liaison to our Customer Enablement and Business Development teams. Responsibilities

• Liaison to customer facing teams who prioritizes requests and delivery timeframes
• Investigate, isolate and solve problems in existing code.
• Design and implement enhancements to client and server side solutions.
• Develop and exercise unit and regression tests associated with your code
• Be available, on a rotating basis, to investigate and fix problems during escalations
• Develop processes or utilities which support release or sustaining engineering effort

Skills

Must have

• Education in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; (B.S. or M.S. degree is a plus)
• Desire to work with some of the best engineers in the industry and learn from and grow to full potential.
• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals is essential.
• Excellent problem solving abilities and strong programming skills.
• Knowledge of services oriented architectures and server side technologies required. Our solutions use Java, J2EE, REST, XML, HTTP, Spring, Apache Tomcat and SQL.
• Past experience with AWS technologies and infrastructure required. Our solutions leverage SimpleDB, S3, EC2 and SQS.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative manner
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Nice to have

• Prefer proficiency with scripting languages such as JavaScript or ActionScript along with Flex and Flash development tools.
• Experience with iOS and Android Frameworks is highly desired.
• Experience on Macintosh and Windows systems helpful, but not required.
