Quality Engineer Video
The Media Solutions team is looking for a passionate quality engineer with strong experience in development of software applications of medium/high complexity to help us shaping and deciding tomorrow’s technologies for delivering, measurement and protection of online video content. You will contribute to defining the architecture of a complex solution that needs to sustain millions of users and to development of video apps on most of devices relevant for video use-cases (e.g. iOS and Android devices, connected TVs, STB or gaming consoles).
Responsibilities
- learn or improve on testing solutions for most popular mobile/video platforms (e.g. iOS, Android, XBOX, PS3 etc)
- work with the developer team on defining test strategies, test plans, and validating both new and existing functionality
- design and automate tests for functional and API testing to ensure complete test coverage for all areas of the product with a meticulous attention to detail
- perform user, workflow and scenario testing
- interact with product management, team leads and customers to refine feature requirements
Skills
Must have
- 3+ years of proven experience testing commercial software
- solid experience in testing automation, “continuous integration” solutions and testing methodologies
- knowledge about web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP) or mobile ones (iOS, Android)
- ability to achieve results with little supervision or direction
- familiar with scripting languages (Perl, Python, bash) or coding for web apps (such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Visual Basic, ActionScript, PHP, etc.)
- good problem solving and diagnostic skills, ability to analyze, isolate, and document complex technical issues
Nice to have
- experience in medium/high complexity web application development (both client and server side). Thorough understanding of the processes/flows that happen “behind-the-scenes” between the client and server sides of a web application. Knowledgeable about internet standards.
- experience with video processing algorithms or video transport protocols
- Experience with XBOX, PS3 or Wii testing methodologies
